Our Process: How Driveway Mobile Mechanic Works
No shop, no tow, no waiting room — just a clear price and a mechanic who comes to you. Here’s exactly how it works, start to finish.
The 4 Steps, Start to Finish
1. Call or text us
Reach us at (839) 269-9955. Tell us your vehicle (year, make, model) and what it’s doing — won’t start, grinding brakes, a warning light, whatever it is. A real person picks up, talks it through, and if it’s something we can price over the phone, you’ll get a ballpark right there.
2. Get a firm, upfront price
Before we touch anything, you get a clear, itemized quote. If the job needs a diagnostic first, that’s a flat $75–$130 — and we credit it toward the repair if you move ahead. No vague “we’ll see when we get there,” and no surprise fees at the end.
3. We come to you
We show up at your home, your office parking lot, or the roadside at a time that fits your day. Everything happens where your car already is — no tow truck, no drop-off, no waiting room. Watch, ask questions, or just get on with your day.
4. We fix it and you pay on the spot
We do the repair, show you any worn parts we replaced, and confirm everything works before we leave. You pay by card or cash when it’s done — nothing upfront, nothing hidden.
What We Bring to You
A mobile mechanic isn’t a guy with a wrench in a backpack. We roll up in a fully stocked service van — professional scan tools, floor jack and stands, battery testers, power tools, and common parts and fluids — everything needed to do shop-grade work right in your driveway. If a job needs a specific part, we source it and schedule the install, usually the same or next day.
What We Can (and Can’t) Do On-Site
Most repairs are a perfect fit for mobile service: batteries, alternators, starters, brakes, no-starts, A/C recharge, diagnostics, belts, sensors, oil changes, and pre-purchase inspections. A few jobs genuinely need a shop lift or specialized equipment — major internal engine work, transmission rebuilds, or anything that isn’t safe to do on uneven ground or in heavy traffic. When that’s the case, we tell you straight and point you the right way instead of patching something that’ll fail again.
How Pricing Works
- Upfront quote before any work — you approve the price first.
- Diagnostic is a flat $75–$130, often credited toward the repair.
- No hidden fees — no after-hours surprises, no “shop supplies” padding.
- Pay on the spot by card or cash when the work is finished.
What to Have Ready When You Call
A quick call goes smoother when you have a few things handy:
- Your vehicle’s year, make, and model.
- What it’s doing — the symptoms, sounds, or warning lights.
- Where the car is (home, work, roadside) and whether it’s in a safe, accessible spot.
- Roughly when it started, if you know.
After the Repair
We confirm the fix works, walk you through what we did, and leave you with a clear invoice. If we earned it, a quick review helps other Columbia drivers find honest help. From here, explore our mobile services, see what repairs cost, or check the areas we serve.
